Questions Over Global Weapons Power Amid Ongoing Conflict

Conflict War Updates By Zenvor News

Amid the ongoing conflict, many questions are being raised about the effectiveness of global military power. A major debate has emerged over whose weapons are truly superior.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that American weapons are far superior, stating that Russian and Chinese military equipment has proven ineffective in comparison. He asserted that no force on Earth can match the strength of the U.S. military.

However, like many of Trump’s previous claims, this statement is now being questioned. Reports emerging from the battlefield suggest a very different reality.

Reports Indicate Losses for the U.S.

According to reports, the United States has suffered significant setbacks in its conflict involving Iran. In just the first three weeks, the U.S. Air Force reportedly incurred heavy losses, including at least 16 aircraft:

  • 10 MQ-9 Reaper drones
  • 3 F-15 fighter jets
  • 1 KC-135 refueling tanker
  • 1 F-35 Lightning II

These losses have reportedly been caused by Iranian missile strikes.

Following these attacks, the United States and Israel accused Russia and China of assisting Iran. According to reports citing senior U.S. officials, Russia allegedly provided Iran with sensitive intelligence, including the locations of U.S. warships and aircraft in West Asia.

Iran Responds on Russia-China Cooperation

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded by confirming that Russia and China are strategic partners of Iran. He stated that cooperation between these countries continues across various sectors, including military collaboration, though he declined to provide further details.

Chinese Weapons in Focus

Reports suggest that China has supplied Iran with advanced weapon systems, which are playing a significant role in the conflict. Among them:

  • CM-302 Supersonic Anti-Ship Cruise Missile
Designed to target aircraft carriers, destroyers, and warships, with a range of approximately 290–460 km and a 500 kg warhead.
  • HQ-9B Air Defense System
A long-range surface-to-air missile system used for strategic air and missile defense, with an estimated range of 200–260 km.
  • YLC-8B UHF Radar System
A long-range 3D surveillance radar reportedly capable of detecting stealth aircraft such as the F-35 and B-2.

Russia-Iran Military Ties Strengthen

Military cooperation between Russia and Iran has deepened, especially after the Ukraine war began in 2022. Iran supplied Russia with thousands of Shahed-136 drones, which Russia now manufactures domestically.

In return, Russia has reportedly provided Iran with advanced military equipment. In December 2025, a secret deal allegedly included:

  • Man-portable air defense systems
  • Around 2,500 missiles

Russia is also said to be supplying:

  • Su fighter jets
  • Mi-28 helicopters
  • Yak-130 trainer aircraft

These systems are believed to have strengthened Iran’s ability to strike U.S. military bases in the Middle East.

Why Did Trump Make This Claim?

This raises an important question: why did Trump make such a strong claim about U.S. military superiority?

Some analysts suggest it could be due to mounting losses or increasing scrutiny over the effectiveness of American weapons systems. Others believe it may be part of a broader narrative to maintain strategic dominance.

Alleged U.S.-Russia Backchannel Proposal

Meanwhile, another major claim has surfaced in U.S. media. According to reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly proposed a deal to the United States:

  • If the U.S. stops supporting Ukraine
  • Russia would stop sharing intelligence with Iran

The report suggests that this proposal was rejected by the United States.

However, there has been no official confirmation from Russia regarding this claim.

Unanswered Questions Remain

If these reports are accurate, they raise critical geopolitical questions:

  • Is Russia leveraging the Iran conflict to gain advantage in Ukraine?
  • Is Iran receiving direct military or intelligence support from Russia?
  • Are global power blocs shifting toward a larger confrontation in the Middle East?

For now, many of these claims remain unverified. Clear answers will only emerge once official statements or further evidence becomes available.
